How much will my move cost?

The cost of your move will depend on the size of your move and the specific moving services you require. To get an accurate estimate, we recommend contacting us for a free estimate. We offer convenient options for estimates, including online or over the phone assessments. For local moves, we also offer in-house estimates, which provide the most precise assessment of your needs. When contacting us, be sure to provide details about every item you intend to move.

PRICING/RATE:
A) $129 per hour for 2 movers and a truck
B) $169 per hour for 3 movers and a truck
C) $49 per hour per mover/helper only

We also have the option of offering a flat-rate/lump-sum price. The minimum duration for residential moves is 2 hours, 1 hour for pickup/delivery of appliances or furniture, and 2 hours for mover/helper-only services. A one-time fee of an additional hour will be applied for truck, travel and gas expenses.

For out of city moving, we charge $1.75 per km for mobilization & demobilization. We calculate distance from downtown to downtown.

An invoice/receipt will be emailed to you upon completion of the job. There are no hidden charges or fees. The rates we provide include necessary equipment, supplies, and released/liability value protection (full/replacement value protection is available with an extra premium). Our hourly rate begins when we arrive at your move-out/pick-up address and ends when the job is completed at the move-in/drop-off address.

Are there any hidden fees or extra charges?

At Mighty Pup, transparency is key. We pride ourselves on having no extra fees or hidden charges. When you schedule your move with us, our dedicated sales consultants will provide you with a confirmation that clearly outlines all the charges and confirms the agreed-upon rates. This ensures that you have full visibility of any potential charges throughout your move and helps us avoid any unexpected surprises. We believe in open and honest communication to provide you with a stress-free moving experience.

Can I get an estimate over the phone, text or email?

We understand that without conducting a physical assessment of your home, we can only offer an estimated duration for the moving process. However, if our estimated timeframe meets your budget, we assure you that we will make every endeavor to complete the move to the best of our ability within the anticipated time frame.

How long will it take to move my home?

The duration of a move can vary depending on several factors, such as the size of your home, the amount of belongings you have, and the distance to be covered. For instance, packing, loading, and moving a one-bedroom apartment locally can take up to three hours, while a long-distance move can take up to two weeks depending on the size of your home. Other factors that may affect the moving time for local moves include the distance from your front door to the moving truck and the number of stairs involved.

To give you an idea of the estimated moving time, we provide the following approximate ranges:

A) 3-4 hours for 1-2 room condo / apartment moving
B) 5-7 hours for 3-5 room condo / apartment (or 2-3 room house / bungalow / townhouse) moving
C) 8-12 hours for 4-5 room house / bungalow / townhouse moving

However, the actual moving time can vary based on several factors, such as the number of stairs involved, packing/unpacking, assembly/disassembly, and the number of furniture/appliances in each room. We also recommend clearing the driveway and pathway to your home of any obstacles such as snow or ice, to ensure that your move progresses safely and efficiently.

It's worth noting that most damages during the move occur due to improper packing. Hence, we recommend considering our Professional Packing Service, which not only saves you time from getting all the required supplies, but also ensures that your belongings are packed securely.

What method of payment do you accept?

Payment for your move with Mighty Pup is required upon reaching the destination before our movers begin unloading the moving van. We offer convenient payment options to make the process easier for you. You can choose to make payment via Interac e-Transfer, which can be sent through email or text, or you can opt to pay by Credit Card. Rest assured that our team will provide you with the necessary payment details at the time of delivery to ensure a smooth and efficient transaction.

Am I protected against loss or damage while my goods are in transit?

Certainly, but the amount of protection you receive depends on the option you choose. Your selection of valuation coverage determines the basis for settling any claims, as well as the maximum liability of the carrier. The carrier's liability for loss or damage is determined by their tariffs, federal laws, and regulations, which have specific restrictions and exclusions. It is essential to note that valuation is not insurance coverage. This is a critical point to understand. It is the moving company's responsibility to compensate for any loss or damage. Check with your homeowners' insurance provider to determine if you are covered for the move. In many cases, you will discover that you are.

Released Liability Protection - This type of protection is free, but it only provides the minimum coverage and is insufficient for almost all shipments. Released liability protection pays $0.60 per pound per item if lost or damaged. Therefore, a piece of furniture weighing 75 lbs would only receive a settlement of $45. You will be required to initial the bill of lading if you opt for this coverage.

Replacement Value Protection - This is the most comprehensive type of coverage, commonly known as "RVP." If you choose RVP, items will be repaired or replaced at their full value if they are lost or damaged. Depreciation of the lost or damaged item does not factor into the determination of replacement value when the shipment is transported under replacement value protection.
